We’re approximately 9 miles outside of the quaint town of Guffey, Colorado — just over an hour west of from Colorado Springs.
The closest airport is Colorado Springs - just a short 1.5 hours away. Even Denver International Airport is only 2:15 hours away and a beautiful drive for your guests.
We have tables and chairs for up to 120 guests. We can accommodate up to 250 but you will have to rent additional tables/chairs. We recommend Settings for excellent event rentals - based in Salida. We also welcome tented events for those dreaming of a beautiful tented wedding under the stars.
Yes, we have a single day rate for micro-weddings and we also offer an all-inclusive package for weddings of up to 35 guests for $10k. Ask us for more details!
Yes, you may bring in your own vendors — or choose from our trusted local recommendations.
Yes, we do require a licensed and insured caterer and bartender or bartending service for your reception. You may use any company of your choice or we are happy to recommend our favorites.
For your reception, all alcohol must be served by a licensed and insured bartender. Guests are not permitted to bring their own alcohol or consume their own alcohol anywhere on the property during the reception.
Yes, and the good news is that a Day of Coordinator is INCLUDED when you book with The Copper Lodge. You can either rely on her to help manage the timing of the day OR she is happy to work with your wedding planner in making sure that things go smoothly.
Yes, we can accommodate from 16-30 guests depending on sleeping arrangements and there are also many Airbnb’s in the area for nearby accommodations for your guests.
Tables and chairs for up to 120 guests, choice of 3 ceremony arches, whiskey barrels, cocktail tables and access to our “Something Borrowed” shed with faux flowers, vases, small furnishings, decor and flameless candles.
Are there any prohibited decor items? Because we are in a high wildfire risk area, open flames or fireworks of any kind are strictly prohibited. No candles, sparklers or campfires are allowed anywhere on the property. *Battery operated candles are encouraged and we have some that are available for you to use if you would like In order to keep our wildlife and livestock safe, and our cleaners to keep their sanity, we do not allow items such as confetti, glitter, fake flower petals or other difficult to clean items to be used. *Real flower petals, wildflower seed, rice and bubbles are welcome
Yes — two clean and conveniently located restrooms are available inside the Grand Event Barn. For weddings over 50, there will also be a luxury restroom trailer for guests to use.
Yes, you may have a one hour rehearsal prior to your wedding. If you have booked a weekend wedding, you have the entire ranch for 3 day/2 nights to accommodate your rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, reception and even a farewell brunch.
Yes — we have plenty of on-site parking and even have room for large transportation buses should you choose to have guests bussed in.
We do not cancel because of inclement weather. Mountain weather can shift fast — fortunately our Grand Event Barn can double as a beautiful ceremony site if the weather is uncooperative. Storms generally pass quickly and are usually followed by some beautiful rainbows. We always say to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
We are a smoke-free property and smoking is strictly prohibited due to the risk of wildfire in our area.
Yes — well-behaved, leashed dogs may join for ceremonies/photos. Guests and vendors may not bring pets however.
While we are in a remote rural area, noise does carry throughout the valley. You may play amplified music until 10pm. Quiet hours begin at 10pm but you can still play acoustic music or even have a silent disco! For single day events, vendors need to be out by 11pm. For weekend long events, the barn may be open until midnight.
The client is required to leave the venue in the same condition in which it was found. All wedding decor and props that were brought by the client and/or their vendors must be removed by the end of your booking period. Trash must be bagged and disposed of in our on-site dumpster. Large boxes and decor must be disposed of off-site. Dishes and cookware that were used in the kitchen must be cleaned and stored prior to departure.
Can we take pictures of or ride the horses? We have a large herd of rescue horses that do love to make appearances at the end of the day. If you would like to take photographs with them, we are happy to arrange that. Horseback rides are also available for an additional fee. Please ask us if you would like to make an entrance on horseback or via carriage!
Yes! And we have access to the cutest beer burros around just across the street! Book the K-Bar Burros and you won’t have to pay any travel fees.

We require a $2500 non-refundable deposit to hold your date. The final amount will be split into two payments - one 90 days prior to the event and the final payment due 30 days prior.
The $2500 deposit is non-refundable. If the client has made additional payments and cancels prior to 90 days, The Copper Lodge will refund 50% of additional payments LESS the $2500 non-refundable deposit. If the client cancels with less than 30 days, the venue fee will not be refunded.
If the client wishes to change their date, they may do so provided the new date is available. If the date is not available, the client will need to select another available date. Dates may be changed once without penalty.
Yes. You must obtain day-of event insurance that includes host liquor liability coverage. You may purchase this coverage quickly and easily through Event Helper. Proof of insurance must be provided no later than 30 days prior to the event.
We are surrounded by amazing scenery and some incredible attractions all within a 30-45 minute drive. Nearby attractions include Paradise Cove, Eleven Mile State Park, Florissant Fossil Beds, Cripple Creek and the Royal Gorge to name just a few.
